Whitney Fleming

Hello My Name Is...

Whitney Fleming

My name is Whitney Fleming and I’m a special education teacher here at Pelham Ridge. I primarily work with grades K-2. My favorite part of teaching is getting to know each of my students and watching them grow academically and as individuals. I’m a huge believer in fostering healthy social-emotional development in young children inside the classroom. When children feel loved, safe, and heard, they are able to learn better, build positive relationships, and work collaboratively with others. It is the utmost importance that each student feel loved and supported upon entering my classroom each day.

I’m originally from Florence, AL. I began my career in Education at Brooks Elementary School in 2016, before moving to Pelham and joining the faculty here in 2018. My husband and I have three dogs (Ollie, Samson, and Ruby) and one cat (Rosie). We enjoy traveling and exploring new places, spending time outdoors with our dogs, and gardening.
